INDUSTRIES

Budget + Appropriations

Federal and state governments go through annual budget and appropriations processes just like every company or organization. Our team regularly works with federal and state officials to craft agency budget requests, as well as with lawmakers to then direct that spending to specific programs or projects. Our federal and state teams have successfully accessed funding for a myriad of projects and programs through the budget and appropriations processes, such as funding for economic development programs, transportation projects, research programs, and others.

Additionally, congressionally directed spending, commonly known as earmarks, were allowed in the federal appropriations process in fiscal year 2022 for the first time since 2011. A representative or senator may request funding for a project that directs federal spending to a specific entity, locality, or congressional district. Our federal team successfully included requests in fiscal year 2022 appropriations bills and has experience working with earmarks and direct funding through projects and grants.
