WASHINGTON – Troutman Pepper Strategies, the governmental relations and issue management arm of Troutman Pepper, announced today that Ryan Diffley has joined the firm as a senior manager in its Washington, DC office.

Diffley comes to the firm from the U.S. House of Representatives where he served as a senior legislative assistant. Most recently, he acted as a top advisor on policy and strategy for two of Congressman Robert Aderholt’s (AL-4) Appropriations’ Subcommittees. He authored legislation on issues spanning telecommunications, cybersecurity, transportation, infrastructure, homeland security, energy, and water. He also led a cyber policy initiative under former Congressman Tom Graves (GA-14), which included reintroducing the Active Cyber Defense Certainty Act, and built strong relationships with constituents and stakeholders, especially in the healthcare space.

“In response to the growing number of federal regulatory, legislative, and public policy issues that impact our clients, we are always looking for top talent who can help us enhance our clients’ strategies and goals,” said Lindsay Austin, a principal at Troutman Pepper Strategies who leads the federal affairs practice. “Ryan’s strategic background and in-depth knowledge of legislative and policy priorities will serve the evolving needs of our diverse client base extremely well.”

Diffley earned his bachelor’s degree in international affairs from the University of Georgia and has lived in DC since 2014.

Troutman Pepper Strategies’ federal affairs division includes a bipartisan team with more than 75 years combined Washington experience. The DC office has been instrumental in harnessing the firm’s resources to achieve favorable outcomes for its clients before Congress and federal agencies.
