Tom serves as Director of Federal Affairs in the Washington, D.C. office of Troutman Pepper Strategies. Tom has nearly a decade of policy and legislative experience through his work on and off of Capitol Hill. In his current role, Tom leads in the development of strategy, outreach, and advocacy of client initiatives before Congress and federal agencies. He has worked on a wide array of complex issues in support of public and private corporations, higher education institutions, national trade associations, among others. Tom joined Troutman Pepper Strategies in 2011 as a Legislative and Regulatory Assistant.

Prior to joining Troutman Pepper Strategies, Tom gained experience both on and off Capitol Hill. Tom served as a Legislative Assistant to Congresswoman Betty Sutton (D-OH) in her Washington, D.C. office. In this capacity, Tom managed and assisted with a variety of legislative issues, including defense, energy, financial services, education, labor, manufacturing, trade, and foreign affairs. Previously, Tom also gained experience interacting with Congress and businesses, assisting a bipartisan government relations firm based in D.C. In addition to his work involving Capitol Hill, Tom has assisted on several political campaigns at the federal level throughout Ohio.

A Columbus, Ohio native, Tom holds a B.A. with a double major in Diplomacy & Foreign Affairs and Geography from Miami University (OH). Tom currently serves as a board member of The Ohio Society of Washington, D.C., and is a founding member of Electing a Democratic Generation (EDGE).
