ATLANTA and WASHINGTON (January 22, 2019) – Troutman Sanders Strategies LLC, the governmental relations and issue management arm of Troutman Sanders LLP, has named Robb Willis chairman of the firm, succeeding Pete Robinson.

Willis co-founded the group in 2002 and has been involved in governmental relations since 1996. As a leader in Strategies, Willis has grown the practice to four offices with the addition of D.C., Raleigh, and Richmond. A practicing attorney, he represents a diverse, corporate client base before the Georgia General Assembly, executive branch and other state departments. His extensive experience has distinguished him as a leader representing clients’ interests in technology, taxation, telecommunications, banking, construction/development, and healthcare.

“I look forward to leading the Troutman Sanders Strategies team, which includes more than 20 professionals representing clients in our Atlanta, Raleigh, Richmond and Washington, D.C. offices,” Willis said. “We will continue to leverage our diverse backgrounds and bipartisan approach to identify legislative, agency and procurement opportunities, while also working to minimize regulatory barriers for our clients.”

“Robb has over two decades of government affairs experience and understands clients’ needs and priorities from a legal and policy perspective,” said Steve Lewis, managing partner of Troutman Sanders. “He is well-suited to lead the Troutman Sanders Strategies team.”

Prior to entering the private sector, Willis served the Georgia State Senate as chief of staff for the President Pro-Tem and Senate Appropriations Committee. He also briefly served in the Office of Lieutenant Governor in Georgia. Willis is regularly recognized by media and industry authorities and is regarded as one of the best government affairs consultants in Georgia.
